Life is lived better in print. With spring officially in full swing we’re ready to pull out a few of our favourites! We could never part with our classic Breton tee or Vichy cigarette trousers that never go out of style, but sometimes the classics can be a bit boring and in need of a little inspiration. But, not to worry.

“I discovered whilst doing my dissertation that my great – great grandmother hand made lace for Queen Victoria’s wedding dress, which does make me wonder that the creative path I’m on is the right one,” Catris said.

With a background in fine arts and textile designs Catris merges her two talents to create a line of scarves that teeters on the line between works of art and fashionable accessories.

“At the moment I’m seeing a lot of clean, structured lines in clothing, which I think complement my scarves perfectly,” Catris said. “The scarf becomes the focal point and creates a contrast with its naturally soft drape against the tailoured look. Easy to wear and pair with just about anything the scarves translate effortlessly to suit the mood you’re in.”

“The scarves can be worn in so many ways to create different looks and statements,” Catris said. “The square scarf for example can be styled as a cravat by tucking it neatly into the collar of a blouse, or even gently knotted at the front of the neck or under the collar to create a soft bow tie for work- a feminine twist on the masculine!”

Lauren Catris is always one step ahead and offers a selection of scarves that seamlessly takes your day look to night with simple styling of your scarf for the woman who doesn’t have time for a quick wardrobe change. Catris advises on creating a look that blends with your personal tastes while venturing out for bolder styles.

“To transition from day to night, I would undo the first few buttons of the blouse and create a puffy bow like silhouette with the scarf and reposition to the side of the neck. For more of a statement, I would style the scarf in the hair.”
