We chat to Liverpool based businesswoman Georgina Bangham about online healthy food delivery company Healthy Foods Online.
Tell us about what Healthy Foods Online do?
We supply a huge range of healthy, whole, organic and free-from food to our customers at an affordable price, in order to make the decision to switch to eating healthily as easy and undaunting as possible. We have a whole other side of the company which focuses on delicious gourmet food, which we source not only from the UK but we also have luxury brands from the likes of Italy and Spain. As a British brand, we see the importance of not only using our own resources but also utilising those of the wider world, in order to bring diversity and freshness to British lives.
What does your role involve?
The main crux of my role at the moment is really to get our name out into the world, so I reach out to trade customers, in places such as health shops, delis and bistros and showcase our range in as much detail as possible. We also want everyone to give the more luxury brands that they perhaps wouldn't have heard of before a go. Trying new foods is my passion and I want everyone else to experience this as well. I get to talk about food, recipes, sustainability and ethical living all day, which is fantastic! A dream job role!
What has been your biggest challenge since launching?
Honestly my biggest challenge that I face everyday is walking through the warehouse and trying not to eat everything, it all looks so tempting and delicious!
What's been your biggest highlight?
An ongoing rewarding feeling that I have is showing people our range of luxury gluten free pasta, which is a brand called La Fabbrica Della Pasta. For people who suffer from coeliac disease who have succumbed themselves to the fact that gorging themselves on pasta that actually looks and tastes like pasta is a thing of the past, this is a real treat. Their eyes widen and their hand reaches out to take the packet and they get genuinely excited about it, because it looks so tasty but it is safe for them. I honestly can't imagine not having pasta in my life, so I really feel for them and I love that we can offer them a solution to their digestive desires!
Who is your ideal customer?
My ideal customer is someone who has as much passion about food as I do and who is willing to try something new. Some smaller independent stores are fearful to try something different because they say they know what their customer wants and they are all happy - how do you know you are happy until you try something different.
How do you spend your time when you're not working?
I've recently moved from Bristol to Liverpool so I spend a lot of my time wandering around Liverpool and getting myself familiar with all of the nooks and crannies it has to offer. It is an amazing city with a lot of history and it has a great social scene, so I like to try out all the new places I haven't been to like the dockside, bars and of course restaurants.
What can we expect from Healthy Foods Online in the future?
Since I started, the business has grown phenomenally and I can really see it rocketing. The healthy foods market in Britain is growing and because a lot of people are shying away from mainstream supermarkets and the brands that they stock, Healthy Foods Online is on board to supply them with the products that they want. We want customers to feel like they are buying from real people, not just a faceless corporation, so we like to inject personality into the way we work. We use methods of web design, quality control and delivery that make buying food online simpler and easier than going to the supermarket and battling your way down the aisle to find the free-from section. Instead, it's all here ready and waiting to be shared and enjoyed!
