Surrey's Rosanna Fell talks about her new company Glorious Girly Gifts, how it got started and how she juggles it with her three children. No easy task!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m a busy mum of three so life is very much about living day-to-day in our house. Keeping a happy, healthy and harmonious balance at home is tough at times so teamwork is essential.
Where did the idea for Glorious Girly Gifts come from?
The reliance on eCommerce shopping whilst living abroad became a huge frustration for me. Living away from nieces and god children meant that birthdays and Christmas became an important way of reconnecting with them. Finding gifts that stood out and contained a shelf life longer than six months seemed to be virtually impossible. Added to that, the difficulty of including a handwritten card and gift wrap meant that I was always either asking someone to wrap on my behalf or sending presents in brown paper boxes!
Who is a GGG customer?
A busy person! A person who cares enough about finding an original, fun and lasting gift for their loved one but hasn’t got hours to trawl the internet looking for it. Sometimes a customer knows exactly what they are looking for but often, it’s the opposite. If you don’t have a child of the same age, it can be really hard trying to decide on a gift.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding good quality gifts, new products that look and feel good while being priced fairly. The last thing you want is a great looking image on the site that wins the customer over and then when they receive the products, they feel let down by the quality, size or feel.
And your biggest highlight?
Finding fresh products that are made well and have the 'wow factor’ are always the highlights. It’s these products that I can sit and talk about for hours because let’s face it, you pretty much know when something is special. The problem is - as an internet buyer, you always take a risk when buying something you can’t see, smell or feel it. You put your trust in the company you are buying from. This is where our mission statement comes from.
What or who are you inspired by?
Mums all round the world inspire me because as a mum myself, I know how hard it is to run a happy harmonious household.
What do you think is important in developing a successful British brand?
Good quality and affordable products. This is very much the brand we are creating.
How do you manage the work/life balance?
Managing my work/life balance is a challenge so I tend to take things one day at a time and not try and conquer the world in one week!
Do you have any favourite British brands?
Yes, most of my suppliers are British and I try wherever possible to buy from UK brands. I am huge fans of them all!
What are your plans for Glorious Girly Gifts for the future?
Ultimately my wish is to grow the company and increase the product range two fold in the next year. However, in doing this, not only have you got to keep up with the growing and changing trends of young girls but also find and explore new products that sit well within the brand and range. This doesn’t happen overnight and you certainly can’t rush it!
