Established in 2009, Ailleas Designs by Martha Mawson has been capturing the attention and imagination of those clients seeking high quality jewellery that is truly individual. Each piece created by Martha Mawson is a one-off and is inspired by the arts, the landscape, and the very stones with which Martha works and embodies those words that define the name. Ailleas Designs has earned the attention of such publications as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and Fashion London.

 

Martha runs her one-woman business from her home and studio on the northwest coast of Scotland. A liberal arts graduate originally from Virginia in the United States, Martha spent most of her life in the publishing field, but decided to return to her love of fine art and pursue a career as a jewellery designer and maker. As a member of the prestigious British Jewellers’ Association, Martha adheres to a strict code of ethics. She considers each piece of jewellery to be a testament to her devotion to quality and authenticity. Martha sources her gemstones and pearls from just three trusted and respected UK-based suppliers and has established a close working relationship with all of them, ensuring that their ethos matches her own.

 

Ailleas Designs is available from the website and from a small number of Scottish stockists. However, there are plans to expand the number of stockists to include shops and galleries in England and Wales by 2016. Martha takes part in a number of events in Scotland during the course of the year, with a greater concentration in the weeks and months leading up to Christmas. In addition to the jewellery available on the website and through stockists, Martha enthusiastically welcomes commissions.
